Lesson Plans and Webquests
Math:

Area and Perimeter Web Quest This webquest is geared towards seventh grade students. Students use their knowledge of area, perimeter, and money to design an empty room in their house.

Real World Math Students research and learn why math is important in our everyday lives. They list ways we use math in our lives, and write a persuasive letter that convinces the superintendent to keep math in the curriculum.

Math Goodies webquests are fun and engaging, designed for grades 5 through 8.

Science:
Fun Facts about Farming This webquest is geared toward students in grade 3-6. It teaches them about agriculture and ecosystems.

Intertidal Zone Tour Guide Students pretend to be marine biologists. They learn about intertidal zones and create a guide for visitors that teaches them about them.

Oceanography ABC Book Students will learn about ocean animals and create an ABC book based on their findings.


Social Studies:
Learning about History Students research historical methods and organization tools to create their own historical document.

Enigmas Students research an enigma of choice from different points of view. They will create a written report on their findings and create a project that goes along with their enigma.

Shh! We're writing the Constitution! Students learn about the constitution and write their own constitution for their classroom.

Westward Expansion Students will learn about westward expansion and write a persuasive essay from the perspective of a person during that time that explains why settlers should or should not move west.

7 Continents This webquest is geared towards second grade students. During this webquest students will learn about geography and be able to locate the seven continents.


Reading/ ELA:

Designing Hermit's New Home This webquest is designed for 2nd/3rd grade students. Students read a novel and learn about sea creatures. They design a new home for Hermit the hermit crab and write a play about Hermit and his new home.

Author Study Elizabeth George Speare This websquest is designed for 5th grade students. Students learn about fiction and nonfiction, and complete an author study. They write a chapter long sequel to the novel they chose.

Intro to Net Browsing and Safety This is a webquest geared towards primary grade levels (K-1) to help them learn how to surf the web.

Charlotte's Web This webpage provides teachers with a link to webquests that students complete based on the book Charlotte's Web.
